Rigfiles utilizes proprietary code that was put together with a focus on scalability. Data storage scalability is an art form that Rigfiles has mastered. Our application has the ability to geographically stretch across any geo zone. For example with our users we have many data storage locations around the world. The advantage to this is we can offer unlimited storage capacity, plus with the addition of geographic targeted uploads our users have the ability to set which storage points they want their data stored in. As an example we would like to have our U.S users upload and access their data to a specific server located in San Francisco. (Enterprise customers) This provides amazing fast connections as our data storage points can be located in the same geographic region as our users (even in the same data centre if desired) which will provide substantial speed benefits and solve data sovereignty concerns.
How is this done? We check users geographic location based on the ip address they are coming from and match them up to a data storage point of their choosing, we can also select this based on automatically picking the closest locations to them at any point. Rigfiles utilizes 79 data centres globally for secure data transactions. Any one of these locations can be added too for data storage allowing for an unlimited data growth model with an additional focus on security and speed. Additional to the below 79 data centres Rigfiles also has the ability to do on-premise data storage installations for enterprise customers. Our on-premise installations are not publicly disclosed.
